Legendary death metal legion SIX FEET UNDER today unveil the first single from forthcoming studio offering, Undead. Slated for North American release on May 22, 2012 through Metal Blade Records, the 12-track recording was produced by Mark Lewis (Deicide, Devildriver) and mixed by Jason Suecof (Whitechapel, Job For A Cowboy), at Audio Hammer Studios in Sanford, Florida.
Led by the inimitable Chris Barnes, possessor of one of the most dominant and instantly recognizable voices of the death metal genre, Undead offers up an overhauled lineup. Now featuring Barnes alongside new guitarist Rob Arnold (ex- Chimaira), longtime guitarist Steve Swanson, new bassist Jeff Hughell, and drummer Kevin Talley, whose history blasting for Dying Fetus, Misery Index, and Chimaira speaks for itself, SIX FEET UNDER 2012 finds the band reinvigorated and churning out some of the most visceral, in-your-face, and downright horrifying tunes in their renowned discography of brutality both, lyrically and musically.
FORBIDDEN founding member / guitarist / songwriter Craig Locicero has issued the following update:
"Recently I've been getting bombarded with questions as to what exactly I am doing musically because I have so many updates about my different projects. FORBIDDEN, SpiralArms, Demonica, and now Manmade God have all been thrown out there. So please let me explain a little bit.
Crypt Kicker, the Cleveland Metal band once regarded as the very best in the area, has returned after 12 years with a brand new single!
"Broken Whores And Gods" is the name of the new single, which can be heard here as it currently streams on YouTube.
There is no official word yet as to a full length recording from the band, but wee will keep you posted!
New Jersey metallers ATTACKER have been joined by Bobby "Leatherlungs" Lucas (SEVEN WITCHES, OVERLORDE, MORBID SIN) as their new vocalist. Lucas is still currently in Overlorde, who are working towards a release of their own.
According to drummer Mike Sabatini, the band will focus on new material for their as-of-yet-untitled next album that they expect to release by year's end, adding: "We are extremely excited to have Bobby in the ranks bringing his talent to the table, we couldn't have asked for a better addition to the band, GAME ON! We've had a long but well needed break and are looking forward to playing shows again. We do what we do for the love of it and for the fans that do appreciate it and for no other reason than that. This stuff is in our blood!"
Arch Enemy recently parted ways with guitarist Christopher Amott in an amicable split. Christopher Amott was a member of the band between 1996 - 2005, and again between 2007 - 2011. The band welcomed 26 year old American guitarist Nick Cordle on board as Amott's replacement, and they continue their touring activity following the release of their recent Khaos Legions (2011) album.
Footage from Arch Enemy's April 8th rehearsal with Cordle, performing 'The First Deadly Sin', is available below:
