With the release of THE STRANGE CASE OF…, I fell in love with Lzzy Hale. So much so, in fact, that I jokingly got down on one knee and asked her to marry me at Rock On The Range two years ago (a proposal that she didn’t flat out turn down, so maybe there’s still hope!!). Let’s be

Let’s just call it the way it is. It’s been a very, very long time since Marilyn Manson recorded a really good, memorable release that any of us still listen to on a regular basis. To many, the would probably says that it’s been since MECHANICAL ANIMALS back in 1998. For me personally, I’ll be a bit more

When Black Star Riders made their decision to record under a new name instead of as Thin Lizzy, it was met with a lot of opinions. For most, I would assume they were happy that they decided to move away from the name they had been touring under. For many, I'm sure there was a lot of

Image: Forbidden, Pitriff, NewsFORBIDDEN founding member / guitarist / songwriter Craig Locicero has issued the following update:

"Recently I've been getting bombarded with questions as to what exactly I am doing musically because I have so many updates about my different projects. FORBIDDEN, SpiralArms, Demonica, and now Manmade God have all been thrown out there. So please let me explain a little bit.

Image: Cryptkicker, Pitriff, Heavy Metal, NewsCrypt Kicker, the Cleveland Metal band once regarded as the very best in the area, has returned after 12 years with a brand new single!

"Broken Whores And Gods" is the name of the new single, which can be heard here as it currently streams on YouTube.

There is no official word yet as to a full length recording from the band, but wee will keep you posted!

Image: Attacker, Pitriff, Heavy Metal, NewsNew Jersey metallers ATTACKER have been joined by Bobby "Leatherlungs" Lucas (SEVEN WITCHES, OVERLORDE, MORBID SIN) as their new vocalist. Lucas is still currently in Overlorde, who are working towards a release of their own.

According to drummer Mike Sabatini, the band will focus on new material for their as-of-yet-untitled next album that they expect to release by year's end, adding: "We are extremely excited to have Bobby in the ranks bringing his talent to the table, we couldn't have asked for a better addition to the band, GAME ON! We've had a long but well needed break and are looking forward to playing shows again. We do what we do for the love of it and for the fans that do appreciate it and for no other reason than that. This stuff is in our blood!"

Image: Arch Enemy, Pitriff, NewsArch Enemy recently parted ways with guitarist Christopher Amott in an amicable split. Christopher Amott was a member of the band between 1996 - 2005, and again between 2007 - 2011. The band welcomed 26 year old American guitarist Nick Cordle on board as Amott's replacement, and they continue their touring activity following the release of their recent Khaos Legions (2011) album.

Footage from Arch Enemy's April 8th rehearsal with Cordle, performing 'The First Deadly Sin', is available below:

STALINGRAD

This almost never happens. It almost never happens that a band of some notoriety finds a way to come all the way back from the dead and be better than ever. That's exactly what has happened here. For all intents and purposes, Accept was dead. Udo Dirkschneider started an Accept clone band called U.D.O., and the remaining guys were doing nothing. For many, Accept was over. Somehow though, they brought in the surprisingly awesome Mark Tornillo from TT Quick, and came roaring back with BLOOD OF THE NATIONS. To say they stunned the world would be an understatement, as I think even the most staunch believers didn't come close to imagining that release being very good. That said though, the band's follow-up STALINGRAD could actually be more important for them. Would it live up to the last album, or was NATIONS just a fluke?

Image: Little CaesarLITTLE CAESAR vocalist Ron Young recently provided BraveWords.com with an exclusive update, stating that the band's fifth full length album will be titled American Dream. There will 11 new tracks and they are working with Bruce Witkin, Ryan Dorn and Carlos 'Apple G' Orellana in a co-production effort with the band.

Young checked in again today (April 8th) with another exclusive round-up:

Day One: "We got some great drum sounds and 2 basic tracks cut last night... Hoping for a marathon productive day."

Image: Dragonforce, Pitriff, NewsDRAGONFORCE guitarist Herman Li and new vocalist Marc Hudson are featured in a new interview with Niclas Müller-Hansen at Sweden's Metalshrine. An excerpt is available below:

Q: Do you consider this album more different than the previous ones? How do you look at it?

Herman Li: "I think it´s definitely a different type of dynamics than the last album. I mean, we definitely touch on different kind of musical ways that we haven´t done before. The speed is obviously still there, but we´ve expanded our boundaries on this album. We´ve actually broken our own rules book as we said we would never do certain things in Dragonforce, and we actually did."

Image: The Spittin' Cobras, Pitriff, NewsOn the heels of the release of their debut album Year Of The Cobra, Seattle's The Spittin' Cobras have announced tour dates in support of the album. The tour is comprised of headlining dates as well as several supporting the Reverend Horton Heat.

"We can't wait to visit exotic distant lands such as Madison, Chicago, Austin and everywhere in between and really bring this record to life. We're very honored to share the stage on this tour with The Reverend Horton Heat. Watching him play is like taking Rock N' Roll 101," says frontman Alx Karchevsky of the upcoming dates.
