Former GUNS N' ROSES band members Duff McKagan, Matt Sorum and Gilby Clarke reunited on stage last night (Friday, April 13th) at the House Of Blues in Cleveland, Ohio, where McKagan was celebrating the paperback release of his new memoir, It's So Easy (And Other Lies). The event - dubbed A Punk's Review - featured a book reading and saw musical accompaniment by Mike Squires on guitar, Jeff Rouse on bass and Paul Huxtler on pedal steel guitar.
PLAINS OF OBLIVION
It didn't seem like a coincidence that after the critical praise Jeff Loomis received from his last release, ZERO ORDER PHASE, that he left his main project Nevermore shortly afterward. Admittedly, I have no idea how the story goes. I don't know if Loomis was unhappy in Nevermore and was feeling out his options outside of the project, or if he just did a solo album and saw he could have success outside of the band. To be fair, it might just have all fallen into place without either of those two scenarios playing out. Whatever the case, Loomis left Nevermore a while ago, and now that puts all the pressure on his latest album, PLAINS OF OBLIVION, to launch his new career past the great band he was once a member of.

According to the VAN HALEN News Desk, Van Halen have premiered the second single off their new album, A Different Kind of Truth, for the song 'She's The Woman'.
Says VHND: "A fun and nasty rocker with a synchronized guitar/bass intro that nearly knocks you cold, 'She's The Woman' is an instant reminder that Van Halen can still work the heavy bag. This tune is one of six new songs that originated from older material from the seventies and is one of the most prototypical VH songs on the album. The driving riff is a cross between 'Mean Street' and 'Outta Love Again' and could have easily found a comfortable home on any early DLR-era material."
HAVOK will unleash a new EP titled Point Of No Return. Set for release on May 14th in Europe, the EP was recorded by the band with final touches by James Murphy (DEATH, TESTAMENT) and contains two new songs plus two Havok-ized cover tunes. The Point Of No Return will coincide with the band's first European adventure beginning early May with GOATWHORE, ANGELUS APATRIDA and headliners 3 INCHES OF BLOOD.

"Since I came back from Europe I have been struggling with my voice. Last Saturday's gig in San Juan Cap was a vocal disaster.
I thought it was fatigue from the brutal schedule in Europe however the voice is getting worse and now I am having pain even speaking.
Today I went to my doctor in Beverly Hills. He is an ear, nose, and throat specialist.
